Natalia Orestovna Saraeva,

Chief Hematologist
Irkutsk Oblast Ministry of Healthcare

Dear fellow researchers,

I am inviting you to take part in the 3rd International Practical Research Conference: Hematology. Innovations. Clinical Practice. This year it will be held as a series of round table discussions to review key topics of the present day hematology.

Three such discussions are planned. The first will be dedicated to the current approaches to treatment of multiple myeloma and will take place in Irkutsk on July 29; the second, which is planned for September, will address the topical issues of hemostasis from the clinical practice perspective including the challenges encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic; the third round table discussion due in November will focus on chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Procedurally, the discussions will be arranged as follows: some of the reports will be delivered in a live format and available as video recordings to all wishing to watch; foreign experts and representatives of the Russian leading hematological research centers will speak online. As for the audience, this time it is going to be much broader than at the previous conferences —  modern technologies allow scientific discussions that can be joined from any part of the world. So we anticipate a talk both lively and rich in content.

Another advantage of round table discussions is the opportunity to concentrate on one topic and view it from all sides, while traditional conferences do not allow such depth.

So, I am inviting all whose professional interests lie in the area of hematology to take part, and I hope that the knowledge shared during the conference will bring quality of the respective medical aid to a new height.

Igor Vladimirovich Malov,

Rector of Irkutsk State Medical University

Dear colleagues,

The 3rd International Practical Research Conference: Hematology. Innovations. Clinical Practice is to be held in the year of 100th anniversary of the Hospital Therapy Chair of Irkutsk State Medical University. We are proud that our graduates are working in hematological departments of the region’s healthcare institutions and making their contribution to development of this branch of medical science.

Hematology is presently at the scientific forefront — things, which looked fantastic a few years ago, have come real. Medical institutions of the region are already implementing the most advanced methods of diagnostics and treatment of blood disorders, and this is an achievement of both medical practitioners and their teachers — the faculty of Irkutsk State Medical University.

I hope that the new format of the conference will broaden its scope and bring the medical practice a step nearer to the newest scientific accomplishments. I wish an interesting and productive session to all the participants.

Petr Evlampievich Dudin,

Medical Superintendent,
Irkutsk Oblast Clinical Hospital

Dear participants of the conference,

It is for a reason that the Irkutsk Oblast Clinical Hospital has undertaken to be one of the hosts of the 3rd Practical Research Conference: Hematology. Innovations. Clinical Practice. This medical branch has been rapidly developing: many malignant blood diseases that were formerly believed incurable are now fought successfully; patients diagnosed to be under a deadly threat continue living. And I am very glad that people of our region have access to the most advanced treatment including autologous and allogenic transplantation of stem cells —  “miracles” attained by our hospital’s hematology team that is the only one in the Irkutsk oblast.

This year our institution celebrates its 150th anniversary. It is time to access the results and to set new goals. And in this, hematology certainly comes as one of our top priorities, the world being at the threshold of tremendous discoveries, of which we must not fail to be a part. I am sure that many interesting reports will be delivered and many acute questions will be asked during the round table meetings. And this is great because exchange of experience is ever a way to new knowledge and new achievements.
